Happpy Smurfday Baby Sister!!
A toddler underfoot and about to have twins.
You all know how much I love her.
Anyway, for 20 years or so it’s been a tradition to write “Gina is my sister poems”.
And since today’s her birthday I’ll write one here for all the internets to see.
And if you leave her a little Happy birthday wish – I won’t NOT heart that “)
There are four rules for a “Gina is my sister poem”
1. The first line of every four line stanza must be “Gina is my sister”
2. It must rhyme (or pretty close)
3. Something must make her teary eyed
4. And they must always make her smile
So without further ado…
Gina is my sister
And it’s her day of birth
She’s a petite and tiny prego
Tough the twins have added girth
Gina is my sister
And on her birthday day
It’s important that I tell her
That my love will always stay
Gina is my sister
And pictures they’ll show well
Little bits of history
Her story they will tell
Gina is my sister
And yes this was our cat
To balance this way in your sleep
Your cat must be real fat
Gina is my sister
A softball player was she
The team could hit and run and field real well,
But the pitchers walked every batter they did see.
Gina is my sister
Our mother’s only pearl
Only brothers she did have
But she made a sister of this girl
Gina is my sister
And this is Mary Anne
I know my sister started to cry
As looking at these pictures she began
Gina is my sister
And we called her chubby cheeks
But we can’t do that anymore
Because she’s a fitness freak
Gina is my sister
and here’s Christmas through the years
you’ll see gifts all over – everywhere
Mom bought every. one. at. Sears.
Gina is my sister
And her heart was mine to guard
Until I gave the bride away
To Paul…and that was hard.
Gina is my sister
and only she can guess
what these three letters always mean

ooops that was meant for my sister’s comment. She is the apple of my eye that one. Has been for – well I’d better not say how many years (ˆ◡ˆ)
What gorgeous pictures and such a sweet poem! Happy Birthday to Gina and may God bless her and her pregnancy. You’re both very lucky to have each other. Thank you for sharing your beautiful sister with us Craig. (p.s. back in the day I loved Alf too!)
I’ve told her so many times that we could’ve made so much money off of her as a child – as a child model – she could have been BIG! She was THAT amazingly cute! In the past she’s responded with, “I WAS????!!!!”
Well, she was!!! And yes, we are awfully lucky to have each other
And my mom always had her decked out in ribbons and bows and curls – she commented to me about the Christmas picture in the post – the one where she’s standing in front of the fireplace in her nightgown. “I’m sure I’m the only one who got ready for bed with a bow in her hair” – she probably was.
(and that Alf doll is still lurking in the basement of my parents house I think)
God bless you Lisa Maria!
Dear Gina,
Happy Birthday to a most loved sister of a very proud brother. Have a wonderful birthday (all 3 of you!)

Dear Craig,

ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh (◔‿◔)
You are such a sweet brother.
What a wonderful brother you are.
She is blessed to have you.
She has always been the apple of my eye Sharon – and more so after my mom left this earth. I owe my mother for being responsible for giving me the opportunity to learn how to love unconditionally – that was a main goal of mine after my mom went to heaven. And I love my sister for being that object of unconditional love. I am blessed to have HER. God bless you Sharon!
Oh and Happy happy birthday Gina!!
awww!
Happy Birthday to Gina
and funny – no matter how old she gets – she will always be my BABY sister – and wasn’t she the most adorable little girl!!??? And most beautiful bride? just seeing your name in my comment section made me smile by the way, God bless you Mari!!
Hello, Craig! Visiting from Ann’s today. I love your beautiful poem and tribute to your sister! I am sure it made her a little teary and certainly made her smile 🙂
Well…the poem really isn’t very beautiful – it’s just a tradition to write silly, quirky, emotionally drippy poems for my sister – they make ME smile – they make HER smile – and yes – cry. Thank you Jennifer, I think I’ll run over to your blog now and see what surprises I read. God bless you!
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Your sister is GORGEOUS! And look at you, all dressed up.
(I can totally attest to the fat cat thing.)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, GINA! 😀
I KNOW you know the FAT CAT thing – your little babies are fed well! I love my sister – by the way – that’s what the lms stands for (◔‿◔)
P.S. I totally want the ALF doll.
MINE!!!!!!
Friends are supposed to share! LOL
MINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But you can have visitation rights (◔‿◔)
Fine then. 😉
Did you tell ALF that Laska is a cat? Cuz ALF likes to eat cats.
Alf has never met, nor will he ever m(eet) Laska – there will be no snacking!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL
I actually laughed out loud…again. 🙂
awww…this was really sweet. Gina made a gorgeous bride! and you, big brother, looking spiffed out with her on her wedding day–that part made me a little teary-eyed–you giving her away! you have a special relationship. and that is you, in the softball pic, coach? or asst. coach? you were such a great brother to her. i laughed in disbelief and tickled pinkness at the fat cat.
cute poem. happy birthday, Gina and blessings on your little ones!
I was coach of the Ballwin Angels – the only coach – no assistant – taught them how to field, hit, run bases – no team was any better at that – but learned that pitching is what softball is all about regularly hit ans scored 20 runs a game – and walked in 25 (◔‿◔)
And the cat’s name – get this – wait for it…………………………………Puff
God bless you Nacole.
